Indian Idol: Revanth and Khudabaksh’s electrifying performance set the stage on fire

It was all about Andaz in this episode of Indian Idol and all the singers have put their best foot forward. There were some awesome performances that will go down in the history of this show. And it all began with the master himself – Sonu Nigam. The singer paid tribute to India by singing a medley of patriotic songs. Man what a voice! He is simply brilliant. He can make any song sound so beautiful and heart touching. Bollywood should be glad a singer like Sonu Nigam sings for the films. Since it was an Andaz round, Farah Khan too showed a different style. She wore a saree and looked stunning! In fact, she has groomed these singers for this episode so that they can show some swag too. After watching the episode, I can say she did a fab job.







The first performance was of Tejendar and Shravan who sang Gulaabo from Shaandar. The start was a bit shaky but they picked up rather well and ended it on a high. Everyone was ecstatic and Farah even called them rockstars. Shravan credited it to the director saying that he never thought classical songs can be sung differently as well. Sonu and Anu were pleased too.

Malvika and Hardeep sang Ainvaye Ainvaye from Band Bajaa Baaraat and it was just spectacular. They not only sang well but got the nok-jhok right too. Farah was pleasantly surprised while Sonu applauded Malvika more because she actually set the stage on fire.

Khudabaksh and Reyanth’s Dhan te nan from Kamineey was simply mindblowing. I have never heard a rendition so powerful and strong. It was sheer magic. Even the judges felt they were awesome. Revanth even walked away with the Golden Mike for the same and became the first contestant to reach the Top 8 category. Khudabaksh however will have to prove his mettle again to get a spot in Top 8. Their moms paid them a surprise visit on the show and they sang too.

Mansi-Jelly’s Aunty ji from Ekk Main Aur Ekk Tu was the most underperfoming team in the show. They went haywire and just couldn’t keep up.

At last, four of the top 8 contestants were announced. Apart from Revansh, there are Mohit, Malvika, Shravan and Hardeep. Rest will have to contest again to get a spot in top 8.
